About me
On this page, you can learn a little about who I am, what I love, and those things that inspire me.
One of the gifts of living and working in a boarding school community is the liberating intertwining of one's life as a person and as a professional.
"Liberating?" you might ask. "How can sharing a wall with your students feel liberating?"
Well, it is mostly about perspective. Finding balance as a teacher is a universal challenge. For me, sharing meals, spending time on the beach, and occasionally catching a movie in the commons of the dorm helps me know my students better and, equally important, helps them know me. The time spent fosters the relationships that help us all (students and teachers alike) do good work in the classroom.
For me, good work is creative, intentional, and immersed in reflective practice. You can see how these qualities inspired some of my graduate work in my Showcase. Below, you will find the work of three of my favorite researches and speakers whose work has informed much of my daily practice.

More about me
Time with my family is really important to me and we love to spend time outside hiking, working, camping, and going to the beach. I also enjoy doing yoga and I love to read. Animals have always been an important part of my life. I also love to cook, especially creating meals with food we grow in our garden.
